چکیده

Abstract Detailed mineralogical and textural studies, combined with sequential X-ray diffraction geochemical modeling, helped to solve the “copper pitch/wad” enigma in Exótica deposit located downstream of Chuquicamata porphyry copper deposit. Copper pitch wad are essentially chrysocolla co-precipitated Mn oxides, mainly birnessite, as well pseudo-amorphous oxide/oxyhydroxides. Linking mineralogical, geochemical, evidences geological, tectonic, climatic evolution Chuquicamata–Calama area, a four-step genetic model for is presented: (A) formation mature supergene enrichment profile at (~ 30–25 Ma ~ 15 Ma) during an erosion-dominated regime (?900 m erosion) which was accompanied by acidic (pH ?2–4) Cu-Mn-Si-dominated rock drainage (ARD) fluid flow southwards through valley towards Calama Basin, resulting strongly kaolinized chrysocolla/copper wad-impregnated bedrock deposit; (B) deposition Fortuna gravels (starting ?19 intercepted ARD, triggering main chrysocolla, pitch/wad mineralization syn-sedimentary chiefly surficial altered gravels; (C) tectonic freezing onset hyper-aridity (?15–11 exposed enriched chalcocite blanket oxidation, 2–4) Cu-Si-dominated solutions less Mn. These percolated slightly more reducing groundwater path mineralized relatively unaltered pure chrysocolla; (D) ingression confined chloride-rich upper oxidation zone Chuquicamata, most likely between 6 3 Ma, responsible atacamite/brochantite 5.5–7) northern central part

Ore mineralogy and fluid inclusions constraints on genesis of the Muteh gold deposit (western Iran)

The Muteh gold deposit (NE of Golpaygan) in the central part of intrusive-metamorphic belt of Sanandaj-Sirjan zone comprises NW-SE trending gold-quartz vein occurred in metamorphic complex. Gold mineralization is associated with quartz veins that formed during regional deformation across the mylonitic zones in metamorphic rocks of predominantly meta-volcanic, gneiss and schist. The sulfidation ...

The Application of Artificial Neural Networks to Ore Reserve Estimation at Choghart Iron Ore Deposit

Geo-statistical methods for reserve estimation are difficult to use when stationary conditions are not satisfied. Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) provide an alternative to geo-statistical techniques while considerably reducing the processing time required for development and application. In this paper the ANNs was applied to the Choghart iron ore deposit in Yazd province of Iran. Initially, a...

Mineralogy, geochemistry and genesis of Temelieh Manganese ore Deposit (NorthWest of Selseleh, Lorestan Province)

Temelieh area is located about 20 Km northwest of Selseleh (Lorestan Province). Geologically, the area is a small part of the Harsin radiolarite complex. Petrography consists of radiolarite, peridotite, gabbro, plate dikes, basalt and andesite, limestone, and marble. Manganese mineralization occurs as vein-veinlet and is mainly formed in faults, joints, and fractures that crosscut in radiolarit...
